blog details: My journey started in the year 1978 when I joined the All India Radio (AIR) at Aurangabad in their Yuvwani section. Post a two year stint with them, I entered the field of print media and was involved with most known names be it English or Vernacular ie Marathi, in important editorial capacities covering events such as the drought in Marathwada, the earthquake in Latur, groundwater and irrigation issues and Central and state assembly elections besides mundane other matters. Journalism is a rewarding field in that you are at the forefront of change. Pithy it sounds but it not without its share of grind. I was thus instrumental in establishment of the Maulana Azad Education Society’s Horniman College of Journalism and served as its Founding Principal. On the subject of teaching, I have also taught English at Vasantrao Naik College in Aurangabad My long and successful career has seen me being felicitated on Television with channels such as IBN Lokmat, ABP Majha, Mee Marathi and Zee Marathi featuring me. Journalism besides, I have worked for the betterment of rural communities for close to two decades with my organization, ‘Dilasa’. Covering in excess of 2000 villages in 21 districts of Maharashtra, it helped build sustainable living using means such as watersheds and ecosystem development besides creating livelihood means for rural folks. In doing so, I had the opportunity to visit the US to understand their system of water conservation and waste management.
