What Is Scaffold Inspection? Scaffold inspection is an important part of workplace safety for construction and maintenance activities. In Singapore, scaffolding work is governed by the Workplace Safety and Health (Scaffolds) Regulations 2011, which set requirements for the construction, use, maintenance, and inspection of scaffolds. Importance of Scaffold Inspection Regular inspection helps identify defects, damage, instability, missing components, and other hazards before workers use the scaffold. A scaffold must be inspected after construction, erection, or installation and subsequently at intervals of not more than 7 days. It must also be inspected after weather conditions that could affect its strength or stability. Scaffold Supervisor and Inspection Scaffold inspection should be carried out by a qualified scaffold supervisor as required by the regulations. The inspection results must be recorded in the required register and made available at the workplace. This provides an important record for monitoring scaffold safety and inspection status.
