The Internet of Things (IoT) is a computing concept, that describes a future where everyday physical objects will be connnected to the Internet and be able to identify themselves to other devices. The term is closely identified with RFID as the method of comunication although it also may include other sensor technologies, wirelesss technologies or QR codes. Broadbband Internet is become more widely available, the cost of conecting is decreasing. More devices are being created with wifi capabilities and sensors built into them. Technology costs are going down, and smart phone penetration is sky-rocketing.. All of these things are creating a “perfect storm” for the IoT.
