- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We retain a Stripe customer ID and your subscription status for billing administration.
- Automatically collected: IP address (used for spam/abuse prevention), browser and device information, pages visited, and timing of visits — primarily through Google Analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the directory service.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
- To send transactional emails: account verification, password reset, payment receipts, and notices about your subscription.
- To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse (including reCAPTCHA verification on registration and contact forms).
- To improve the service and understand traffic patterns.
- To respond to your support requests, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with the following service providers, only as necessary to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics. Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA— bot protection on forms. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- UploadThing — image hosting for blog thumbnails.
- Vercel — site hosting and content delivery.
- Neon — database hosting (PostgreSQL).
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies for:
- Authentication: a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
- Analytics: Google Analytics may set cookies to measure traffic. You can opt out via your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. Data Retention
- Account information is retained until you delete your account.
- Blog submissions are retained for as long as your blog is listed in the directory, plus a short grace period after deletion in case of accidental removal.
- Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years).
- Server logs are typically retained for 30 days for security and debugging.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Access and update your profile information from your dashboard.
- Edit or delete any blog you submitted from its detail page.
- Cancel your subscription from the dashboard's “Manage subscription” link (Stripe Customer Portal).
- Request deletion of your account by contacting us via the contact form. We will process the request within 30 days.
- Request a copy of your personal data we hold by contacting us.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to processing or to data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls on our database. No system is completely secure, but we work to minimize risk and respond promptly to any incidents.
8. Children's Privacy
Blog Directory is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Our servers are located in the United States. By using the service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
