    Digital Content

    Category: Professional

DIGITAL CONTENT Are you a budding PR company? Are you interested in growth? Is your long-term aim to re-create the face of Public Relations via social media? If yes, then tighten your seat belts and take note. There is no black and white in self-promotion. Running a business or company requires constant upgrade to be the uber-cool one amongst your peers, just like the software updates on your smart phone. If facebook had failed to upgrade its chat settings, its traffic would have choked on its own innovation. Google takes the crown here. No matter how many strategies you conjure, and replicate it over, citing it as THE mantra for success, chances of it becoming obsolete are frighteningly high in today tech savvy world. Welcome to Digital Content. Many may have you believe that an overwhelming social media presence is the first sure step towards success. Here are a few rules or guidelines to be kept in mind. 1. Consistency matters: Media presence should not transform into promiscuity so much so that it becomes repetitive and quite frankly boring to read. You needn’t be on every social site and/or post blogs every single day. Sometimes it’s essential to take a breath, sit back and enjoy the trend. One good blog is better than several bad ones. 2. Being DUMB will hurt: Know your forte’, and work your strengths. In the new media sphere, footsteps are LOUD and echo louder. Let the people discuss and talk. A healthy dose of criticism is a blessing. Utilize known expertise to venture into new territories and do your homework before posting content online. To know, is to grow. 3. Plan a strategy. Stick to it: Whether there is one or not, doesn’t remain the big question, until a badly formulated approach to simple tasks results in total disaster. Reform. Do not attempt something willy-nilly. Do your research, and don’t fall into the trap of copying just because someone else is. A rival is a rival only as long as both are good and pose healthy challenge. 4. Content was, is and always will be King: Needless to say, people read and follow and in their own way try to understand. This connection of social media enthusiasts is an asset, which can be used to further promote the cause of your PR scheme. No one is every going to get content writing, right all the time. Mostly it’s a process of trial and error. Develop a content writing section or hire a content developer having sharp innovative skills with a flair for something different. In the long run it will prove to be an investment with remarkable returns. Having a business that’s partly or fully online is intimidating and often requires a detailed approach. YOU know best. Follow your own instincts and renovate your system as YOU see fit. Be a pioneer, not just another follower.
