Emergency Ultrasound in Cervical Ectopic Pregnancy

Cervical ectopic pregnancies are rare, making up approximately 0.15% of all ectopic pregnancies. However, they carry the potential of massive blood loss and, when unrecognized, mortality has been reported between 40% and 45% in early series. Early clinical and ultrasound recognition is critical to decreasing potentially fatal hemorrhage and to attempt conservative management strategies.
