Epinephrine (adrenaline) auto-injectors such as EpiPen and EpiPen Jr are single-dose, pre-filled devices that deliver a fixed dose of epinephrine into the outer thigh. Several recent items bear on how they are discussed: the US prescribing information for EpiPen and EpiPen Jr was revised in March 2026; an international expert panel published consensus recommendations on epinephrine use and emergency-services activation in community settings in December 2025; World Allergy Organization (WAO) publications continue to document that auto-injectors are unavailable in many countries; and an Indian allergy specialist wrote in April 2026 that auto-injectors are not routinely stocked in Indian pharmacies. This article summarises what those sources and the label state, for hospital pharmacists, emergency and allergy departments, institutions and procurement teams.
