The New Apostolic Church believes that only through its “apostles” can anyone get forgiveness, communion, or peace from God. It provides the religious movement with authority. The New Apostolic Church was founded in England in the 1830s as a branch of the Catholic Apostolic Church as a result of a prophecy that “reinstated” apostolic authority, declaring their founder the first apostles called by God after the apostle John’s passing.
