United Airlines generally distinguishes between correcting a genuine spelling or typographical error and transferring a ticket to a completely different passenger. The united airlines name change policy may depend on the type of correction, ticket conditions, itinerary, and whether the reservation was booked directly with United or through a travel agency. For minor corrections, travelers should provide accurate identification details and make sure the corrected name matches their government-issued identification or passport. Because eligibility and documentation requirements can vary, checking the reservation-specific rules before requesting a correction is important.
