    The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which rules Punjab, won the Jalandhar West constituency in a triangular contest. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) secured Vikravandi assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu. Counting of votes began at 8 am in key constituencies of West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Bihar.
