Interview Question: What is your expected salary?

    Category: Other

With the economy in such shambles, they think, “If I don’t accept their first offer, there are six other candidates outside the door who’ll be glad to accept any offer.” Don’t assume this for sure. Here are some easy questions to ask during salary negotiation candidate can ask for: 1. “Is this negotiable?” If say no, you can move on to negotiate other items like medical, travel allowance etc. 2. “Is this base only?” Ask is it total compensation or base compensation as this shows your interest in the details of bonuses and stock options. 3. “Will you this written?” Ask for the proof for future purpose. Don’t accept an offer that isn’t in writing. 4. “What about start date?” Try to build in time to close out existing job and take a vacation. Keep in mind that in addition to gathering necessary information, you’re showing your new boss that you’re a good negotiator. So be careful with new start.
