Bodhidharma a Buddhist monk founded these Shaolin martial arts before 1600 years ago in the Shaolin Buddhist Temple. In this beautiful temple Zen Buddhism a new form of culture and tradition had taken birth. The name Shaolin consists of two words "Shao" and "lin" where as "Shao" means young and "lin" means "forest" which actually means about the temples in the nearby woods.
