As more and more organizations often embrace various digital solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their processes, both internally and externally, the demand for new-generation low code development solutions has grown exponentially. In this article, we are going to discuss low code workflow and how businesses are using the low code development approach. What is a low code workflow automation? Low code automation is a process of creating automation solutions to streamline workflow tasks and deploy them through the agile development cycle compared to the means of the traditional software development approach. Unlike the traditional method of custom application development, low code development tools come with the visual platform where you can leverage the “drag and drop” approach, flow programming, data binding, code generation and other features so that you can easily create an automation workflow using a minimal amount of coding. Because of these features, low code platforms are easier and cheaper way to develop automated workflows than regular code-based development process. Low code workflow adoption among organizations- With businesses today competiting more than ever to leverage data and operate with strong, efficient and streamlined workflows, tools like low code development solutuion has become an inevitable part of IT or application development team. Over the duration of last six years, the market of low code tools has grown dramatically. In 2015, the low code market was $1.7 billion but it is expected to reach over $27 billion by 2o22, an CAGR growth rate of nearly 50%. RPA vs Low code: A lot of people still misunderstand Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with the low code development approac and here we are going to discuss the differences between them. RPA is perfect for automating simple and repetitive tasks. These tasks are usually predictable and routined and that’s why most businesses use BOT to automate to take care of it. When it comes to creating a wider strategy of application development throughout the business, using a powerful low code development platfom will be a perfect idea. Does not only a low code platform automate the simple workflows but it also enables developers to create custom applications, improve the existing applications and integrate legacy or third-party tools to move data through automated and streamlined workflows. In short, we can define RPA is a one-and-done approach to automation, while low code is a powerful, comprehensive and capable of handling more complex projects to streamlin automated workflows across the businesses to ensure utmost productivity, cost-saving and ROI (Return of Investment). Some interesting use cases of low code automation workflows- Customer-Portals: Organizations that are still relying on manual processes for handling customer interactions, often spend substantial amount of time in processing requests. A lot of companies these days use low code platforms to create automated customer-portals where customers can easily use highly-intutive self-service applications without facing any difficulties. This means customers can perform simple tasks themselves and let the automated workflow take care of without having to rely on the customer support representative team. Operational efficiency: With the low code development tool, your IT team can automate all your critical business processes to that you can ensure optimal operational efficiency, thus eliminating the need for human intervention and reducing the dependency on manual, paper-based processes. With low code solutions, developers and business users can link different business applications and automate workflows between them.
