The instructor is not the attention of the students, so there's no focal point in the classroom. Rather, the young kids interact with the world as a group. Inside a Montessori classroom, unlike a typical classroom where the instructor gives one lesson to all, the entire class, the teacher bases teachings on the requirements of the student individually. This allows kids in a Montessori environment to strengthen their weaknesses via targeted instruction while also allowing them to build on their strengths.
