Snapchat Launched New Update For Apps The New Terms Of Service And Privacy Policy
Category: Technology
It is a well known fact that clicking ‘I agree’ is one of the biggest lie ever. But, seldom do people realize that it can be bad for them and their online experience. One such example is the updated version of Snapchat’s terms of service. As per the new Terms of Service, Snapchat has the right to store, display and publicly reproduce your content. It can also use it for developing and improving their services. They will also have the license to make the content you submit through their service, available to their business partners. Snapchat or their partners will be able to use your name, likeness and voice in any and all media and distribution channel in connection with any Live Story or other crowd-sourcing content a user creates, uploads, posts, sends, or appears in. Users will not be entitled to any compensation from Snapchat or their business partners if their name, likeness, or voice is conveyed through the services. These terms violate the sense of security the users need regarding their privacy on Snapchat. Also, Snapchat’s USP is that the content is temporary and other users cannot store them without the knowledge of the sender. (Users get a notification when someone takes a snapshot of their story.) If Snapchat itself is going to save the content, it would be against the main reason why people use it in the first place. Additionally, this also goes against Snapchat’s core USP of disappearing content. Snapchat’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy do not contain any legal jargons and hence they are actually making it easier of their users to read them. Please do. - See more at: http://www.khanstory.com/2015/10/snapchat-launched-new-update-for-apps.html#sthash.1woHRgPO.dpuf
