The Xperia Z3 is the latest flagship smart phone from Sony that boasts incredible features that are unseen in other smart phones in the market. This phone has the highest waterproof rating, 3GB of RAM and a 20.7 Mega Pixel Camera with auto focus, making it the most desirable smartphone at the moment. Hardware Like its predecessors, the Xperia Z3 is water and dust proof, but with a higher IP rating of IP65 and IP68. The phone features a new brighter display, a Snapdragon 801 processor and the ability to record 4K videos. Sony announced that the device will be able to play PlayStation 4 games via Remote Play. The Xperia Z3 includes support for magnetic charging, except for the Z3v variant which eschews the magnetic charging port for Qi wireless charging. Display The Sony Xperia Z3 features a 5.15 inch BRAVIA IPS LCD Triluminos display with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels (Full HD) with a pixel density of 424 ppi. The Triluminos technology which uses light-emitting nano particles, referred to as quantum dots, that emit light in wavelengths that the human eye perceives as colors, allows the display to re-produce a gamut of color 50% larger than conventional LCD technology. It also features Live Color LED technology, where red and green phosphors have been added to the IPS display to widen the colour range without over-saturating. Thus, reproducing more accurate and viewing angles. Camera and battery The Xperia Z3 still features a 1/2.3" 20.7 megapixel camera with the same specifications as the Z2, but the ISO of the camera has been improved up to 12800 sensitivity, which Sony claims is the first in a smartphone, and Steady Shot and Intelligent Active Mode have also both been improved to get steadier and crisper videos. It also features a new 25mm G Lens with Sony BIONZ for mobile image processor and Exmor RS for mobile image sensor.[3][9] The device is packed with a high capacity, non-removable 3100 mAh battery (3200 mAh on Z3v variant), and has several battery saving power management modes included with the software. Processor and storage On the inside, the Xperia Z3 features a slightly tweaked Snapdragon 800 processor (known as Snapdragon 801) clocked at 2.5 GHz sealed 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage, about 11GB of which is available for the user. The Snapdragon 801 also added support for full 4K resolution video recording. (As seen in the Z2) The Sony Xperia Z3 is the first Sony smartphone to use nano SIM; the D6633 variant (also branded as (Xperia Z3 Dual) also includes dual SIM support. Software The Xperia Z3 runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sony's custom launcher and some additional applications, such as Sony's media applications (Walkman, Album and Videos). Additionally, the device also includes Sony's new Ultra Stamina Mode, which pares the phone applications down to only basic phone functionality for extreme battery life and a few new applications such as Lifelog, a health tracker; and Sony Select. As with most Android devices, it comes preloaded with a suite of Google apps. Sony announced on their blog that the phone will be upgraded to Android 5.0 "Lollipop" along with other devices within the Xperia Z series by early 2015.
