    SURFACE EXTRUDERS IN FLUIDMECH

    Surface and volume extruders is a very powerful feature for the extension of inlets and outlets. Extruders are attached to the geometry with an interface which can accurately measure physical entities, in order to not lose the possibility of evaluating of the simulation at open boundaries. Creation and implementation of extruders In Operations node (within the Geometry node) you would find Surface extruder at Surface preparation option. For using input to the Volume extruder, the surface extruder operation creates a new part that gets connected to the area that needs to be extruded. The volume extruder generates the extruder mesh. The inputs are entered for the surface extruder operation that measure the extrusion distance. This option appears by enabling the Upon creation option. Activation of Auto-retraction option runs check for intersections and retracts the volume. The boundary condition at the previous open boundary is replaced automatically by an interface between it and the surface extruder (an outlet is extended). The boundary condition for the open boundary of the surface extruder must be manually changed. For example there is substitution as a pressure outlet for the new outlet border. After execution of extruder option there occurs mesh of extrusion. For example, extrusion using One sided hyperbolic stretching method. Settings for volume extruder The mesh control settings are as follows: Specifying the number of layers to use from the previous outlet to the new outlet. Enumerate the relations between growing of layers, through constant, geometric, hyperbolic of both one sided and two sided methods. Choose the definition of value for stretching through any of the three methods- stretching, initial wall thickness and thickness ratio. Stretching is the ratio of thickness between the layer of interest divided by the previous layer. Initial wall thickness is the thickness of the primary layer.
