Deepak Hooda has been a revelation in this season's IPL, and his exploits in the IPL earned him a place in the Indian T20I squad. He was included in the two matches against Ireland, and he did not disappoint. Deepak Hooda opened the innings in both the T20Is and made a century in one of the two. He scored 47 runs in 29 deliveries with 6 fours and 2 sixes and was not out throughout the innings. He led India to a comfortable victory. When it came to the second match, it was even better for the in-form Deepak Hooda. He scored a quickfire century, scoring 104 off 57 deliveries with 9 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 182.46. His good form did not end there. He continued his form against the English domestic sides whom some Indian players are playing in practice matches. In the recently concluded T20 practice match, the swashbuckling Hooda came in at number 3 and starred in this position as well. He showed that not only he can bat at the top, but can bat at number 3 as well. His versatility shows what a great player he has become over the years. He has increased his average as well as run rate lately. He scored 59 runs off 37 deliveries with 5 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 159.46. The 27-year-old is giving the selectors something to think about with his current form. He played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2015 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. Sunrisers Hyderabad paid a whopping 4.2 crores for him in the 2016 edition. The Sunrisers won the edition and their win could be attributed to Deepak Hooda for his excellent performances. He bowls off-break and is a hitting batsman who is regularly aggressive. At just 27 years of age, the batting all-rounder still has his best years in front of him. His nickname is "Hurricane," thanks to his ability to hit the ball in the crowd and change the match in no time. He is only the second Baroda batsman to score a debut century after Snehal Parikh. He was India's go-to player on the Under-19 team as well.
