Gartner says ““Big Data is high-volume, -velocity and -variety information assets that demand cost-effective, innovative forms of information processing for enhanced insight and decision making.” The Gartner quote makes a good point. It is not enough to understand what Big Data is and then collect it. You must also have a means of processing it in order to extract value from it.
