A lot of people default to trains or buses for this route because Haridwar is well-connected. But once you actually compare the experience, a taxi usually wins for a few simple reasons: Door-to-door convenience - no dragging luggage to a bus stand or railway station at odd hours No fixed timing - leave when you want, stop where you want Better for families and groups - especially with elderly parents or small kids Flexibility for Rishikesh or Mussoorie extensions - many travelers combine Haridwar with a Rishikesh or Mussoorie side trip, which is far easier in a private cab Comfortable for early morning temple visits - you can leave at 4–5 AM if you want to catch the sunrise at the ghats, something a train timetable won't allow
