MobileComm’s Assignment A customer asked MobileComm to perform RAN planning with specific targets to improve on delivery timelines, decrease overall cost, and improve quality. This customer was in one of the top tier-1 US markets where scaling variations and highly agile rollout were inherent to the project. MobileComm’s Solution MobileComm created a centralized pool of experts to handle scalability, complexity, knowledge transfer, and ad hoc demands. The group was empowered with MobileComm’s in-house processes and our mPulse project management platform. The Scope of Work for the 5G RF planning engagement was as follows: mmWave dense-urban innovative model tuning NR Design of 28GHz & 39GHz with 800MHz BW Capacity Design for 100 GB per square mile Beam-forming 4T4R (4 MIMO streams per layer, 32-antenna-element design) Sub 6 GHz LTE/NR RF design Site candidate evaluation and justification Our engagement included RF experts, multiple RF planning tools, a project manager, and our inhouse tool. Customer Benefits As a result of MobileComm’s work, the customer’s RAN was deployed considerably faster than originally anticipated. Our accurate propagation model and optimal design using tools in our mm platform achieved significant reductions in both capital and operating expenses. Our team’s work resulted in an overall 20% cost reduction in the RAN design. Results like these are how MobileComm retains customers for repeat business.
